Red Cherry Congo Tetras are a beautiful and popular freshwater fish that are native to the Congo River Basin in Africa. They are known for their bright red coloration, which can vary from a deep crimson to a lighter pinkish hue. Red Congo Tetras typically grow to be about 2-3 inches long, and they live for an average of 5-10 years.

In the wild, these fish inhabit murky rivers and streams with lots of vegetation, but in captivity they do well in most aquariums as long as there is plenty of hiding places and some plants.Red Congo Tetras are peaceful community fish that get along with other similarly sized fish. They are not overly active, but they do enjoy swimming around and exploring their surroundings.

These fish prefer to school in groups of 6 or more, so if you’re keeping them in an aquarium it’s best to have at least 6-8 individuals. When kept in proper conditions, Red Congo Tetras are hardy fish that are relatively easy to care for. However, like all freshwater fish they are susceptible to diseases such as ich and fin rot if the water quality is poor or the tank is overcrowded.
